Based on a a series of easy to understand concepts, it allows you to setup to take effective action on almost any issue. To get a feel for the whole program you can look at the outline screen and scan through a few sections. Each section covers a separate topic and those sections presented at the beginning form the basis of what is to follow. To help build a strong foundation in the fundamentals, each time you start the program, you may want to review the last section you worked on before starting a new one. The concepts are condensed so take your time and wait until you feel you've fully absorbed all the information on a screen before going on to the next one. After you've finished a section, you may want to take a break and make a printout of that section (for your own use and to share with other members of your group). This program is designed to progress with you through the stages of setting up your group, so there is no need to rush ahead.
The people who contributed to the creation of this program came from different backgrounds and grassroots issues. Each of us had survived the process of setting up a group and gone on to resolve our issue. Looking back over our experiences, we could see there were basic strategies that characterized effective groups. Yet, new groups seemed to be struggling through the same process and making the same mistakes (as though no groups had gone before them). With all the serious issues facing our society, we felt there must be a better way. After 2 years of work in design and writing, this program is our vision of that better way. It takes you step by step through the process of setting up. By helping you avoid the common mistakes, it enables you to focus more of your energy into resolving your issue. Our goal in creating this program was to make taking effective action on your issue a rewarding and empowering experience. In keeping with our belief that effective grassroots work is essential for the preservation of democracy and the creation of a better world, we have chosen the SHAREWARE method of distributing this program because it encourages distribution to everyone.
